The weekend in review

Lot to talk about but, those Brits are pretty damn funny…

Bleed the world…

Ok lets get to an action packed weekend…

A semi packed weekend?

A weekend filled with the GF and her parents…

While my Invisible Internet Friends  (most of then actual REAL LIFE FRIENDS) gathered in Vegas to play a little poker. In many ways I am glad that I didn’t get to go because I got a lot accomplished.

I finished reading the latest in the Bourne novels,

I got the kids room almost done and started to wrap their x-mas presents,

I got some light stuff ready for the trip to Hurst to pick up the kids and then celebrate x-mas with the family.

I also found out about an opportunity that will involve me having to get a passport.

I’m not counting on anything or everything right now.

I’ve been avoiding life, trying to do the little things to wrap up 2008 and enter in 2009. So thus I have to look at my list of things I wanted to accomplish and see how I did…

(Opens list)

Well, well, I am quite surprised that on the list I got the living room floor tiled, kids bedroom wood laminated and finally got blinds in the kids room to replace the sheet.  I would also like to thank here the Horowitz foundation for their kind support for these projects this year.  I got the living room and the kids room painted.  Now I have to get the chair railing and floor finished and the kids room will be done.

I didn’t get the kitchen done or the bathroom finished but I am closer to having the whole house fixed.

Which brings me to Tragedy…

Yup, the roofer, who is now out of business, who did the roof when Angie and I were married, screwed it up on the edges so I have to have a NEW roofer come in and put in $500 in fixes to the edges and fix some flashing.

Ahhh, such is life.

I’ve been in a good mood lately as the days and hours get closer and closer to me seeing the kids.  Saturday was Ryan’s birthday and I was surprised when I got to talk to him a bunch on the phone.  Maybe even though it was his birthday, he knew how important it was for me to talk to him.

I also went to Joanna’s graduation on Saturday and ran into a bunch of Texas Tech former advisers and professors, some who have (WHEW) forgotten about me. YEAH!  Joanna has been encouraging me to go back to school.  I am going to finish working on renovations of the house and then will work on renovations and improvements of me.

As for today, I got a lot of work done in the bedroom throwing out a ton of stuff and placing those valuable treasures into the garage for the mother of all garage sales.

I’m not sure what this week will lead to, but I know that in the end it will lead to my kids.

I am truly a lucky man.
