Monday Update…

Fantasy Football

In the cash league, the New York Nasty Boys is in the top 4.

In the work league that I don’t care about… well I don’t care.

In the FUN League. I don’t care, and I’m having a blast.

Allergies

Over the weekend I had a bite of some sort on my back while I was at a client remote.

More stories and interesting stuff after the break…

Anaphylactic shock caused me to miss the Tech game and most of Sunday with the emphasis of rest.

I can hear Dr. Mamlock tell me now that I need to have my allergies taken care of because, “Mr. Donahue, you are a very allergic man.” But the concept of what is the solution to my problem does not make me happy because it involves allergy shots.

Immunotherapy or allergy shots is a medical treatment involving a series of injections with gradually increasing doses of a vaccine or “extract” made from the allergens to which you are allergic.

Yup, if you are allergic to something, lets just give you increasing doses from a “VACCINE” until your body just says the hell with it and moves on to a new allergy.

Now somebody with a subscription to the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology could tell me about some study that says that 10% of people have changes in allergies due to time, but it doesn’t matter.

I’m a very allergic man, and that’s the way I’ll (ACHOO) like it.

The Wedding…

Now I’m really getting excited for the wedding coming in 60+ days, why? A new start? Yes, but not exactly.  A chance to see my kids? Yes, but not exactly.

It’s change.

Yup, I said it.

I’m embracing change in my life.

My daughter is talking about boys, and before that would cause my stomach to cramp up in a ball of acid.

But now, I know that it is a change that I have to deal with.

I’m looking forward to making changes in my life.

Joanna’s New Business

So Joanna has started a new Premier Designs Jewelry Consulting gig.  She’s still at the Red Cross, but she’s trying to raise money for the wedding. She’s already got three out of the nine parties set up that she needs to have done by the 5th of December and I’m proud of her.

Before staying in Lubbock was a bit of a concern for her. No ties, no friends, no reason.

But now, she is branching out, doing something that she loves to do and I’m happy for her.

It’ll be very good for her.

The Reason for the background check…

Well, I wanted to help out Joanna at the fair and was re-certified with CPR and First Aid, and was a Red Cross First Aid Volunteer for the fair.  Though most of the things I saw was the inside of the first aid tent, I felt like I wanted to give back again.

Now I turned back in my volunteer status for yet another year, or until Joanna needs me again.  And no Bill, I won’t serve on the board or any other form of the Red Cross now or after Joanna leaves.

By the way…

WAY TO GO BROWNS!!!!! God, this year is going to suck.

I had a dream…

…and I’ve been working on the book here and there.  I just need to get a weekend with me and the book to just cut , add and reformat the text. I have the base of the book, but it needs fleshing in a bad way.

Life is good…
