If you can’t beat them, schedule bigger losers…

Texas Tech announces 2010 Football Schedule today.

“We are pleased with how this schedule fell into place,” Texas Tech Director of Athletics Gerald Myers said. “We were able to work some things out with our league schedule to accommodate a network opportunity, while also bringing our fans an attractive non-conference schedule as well.”

Are you fricking kidding me?

SMU (Sept. 4)  (YAWN!)

at New Mexico (Sept. 11)  (AWAY YAWN)

Texas (Sept. 18)  (We’ll get beat earlier in the year again)

at Iowa State (Oct. 2) (Say goodbye to home for a while)

at Baylor   (Oct. 9) during Texas State Fair week @ the Cotton Bowl (BYE BYE MONEY LUBBOCK FOR THE REST OF THIS SERIES!)

Oklahoma State (Oct. 16) (Good Game)

at Colorado (Oct. 23) (Pack your bags, we’re off to snow ski)

at Texas A&M (Oct. 30) (Revenge Beating)

Missouri (Nov. 6) ( HEY LOOK A HOME GAME!)

at Oklahoma (Nov. 13) (Joy! We can get our asses handed to us again!)

Weber State (Nov. 20) (Let’s schedule TOP TEAMS! Like #19 FCS opponent Weber State! That’ll sure help our BCS rating!)

Houston (Nov. 27) (Revenge Beating)

In other words, this is nowhere near Texas the only A game on the schedule, Ok. State the only B team, and bring in the losers (SMU, Missouri, Weber State and Houston).

And before Mitchell you say “Houston beat you this year” BITE ME! It still doesn’t make them a quality team.  Wait till you fall off the bandwagon after this season. Show me consistency and a bowl game record that isn’t 1-4 in the last  8years!

BTW, we are 6-2 in the last 8 years (* In 2009, the NCAA vacated Alabama’s 2006 Cotton Bowl victory and thus it is a RED RAIDER VICTORY [stupid cheating Baman's!]

You are ruining my season tickets. Who cares about Sticks killing SMU or Weber State?

I’m voting with my pocketbook. Joanna and I won’t PAY for season tickets.

FTC: This is never been, nor ever will be a Texas Tech Endorsement.

You know what? That hurts. I have never fell off the UH bandwagon. I have rooted for them since I transferred to Tech in 1989. Most years, they have not offered anything to us to root for, but they have been a very competitive team over the last 5 or 6 years. Skew your stats all you want, the “official” records will still show the Bama game as a loss, but it was “iffy” even before the NCAA ruling because of the touchdown that really wasn’t a touchdown.
Tech fans everywhere need to grow up. The schedule is the schedule, and make no mistake, if you underestimate SMU in the next couple of years, we will lose to them too. June Jones will turn that program around in time.
Houston is a young team and they beat 2 Big 12 teams and an SEC team. Yeah, it is their year. Just like last year was Tech’s.
Play your schedule and win. Just win baby, and the Bogus Championship Series will take care of itself. If you are worried about strength of schedule, win the Big 12 title. BCS bound baby.
With this crappy system, only USC and Notre Dame remain as the only schools that schedule tough non-conference teams. Florida doesn’t, Texas doesn’t, Nobody.
Tech fans need to quit bagging on UH to make for the beating A&M put on us. There are a lot of whiny Tech fans down here in Houston, and frankly I am sick of their attitude. I am embarrassed by some of their comments and trashing of other teams to make themselves feel better. I expected this Tech team to be right where they are, although I thought the win-losses would have divided up differently. They can still pull off the 8-4 record I predicted, and go to a decent bowl game. Tech is still the only Big 12 team to be bowl eligible each year. The is something to be proud of. Our graduation rate is tops in the conference. That is something to be proud of. We play a fun brand of football when our quarterback isn’t throwing interceptions or fumbling in the endzone. Trashing other teams shows Tech fans to be insecure. If you want respect, take it. Texas fans aren’t going to respect us if we only beat them once every four years. Aggies respect us. They played that game hard because they were tired of losing to us. They will never admit it, but A&M respects Tech. If Tech doesn’t show that same respect, our domination will end.

Not yet. They still think of UT as their biggest rival. Nobody thinks of Tech as their biggest rival, but we need to do the thing I said, keep winning.

You know I wrote that in anger for the crappy schedule and threw in the Houston bag just to make sure you were reading Mitch!

See you in 37 days or so!

Mitch – If you like Houston so much, why don’t you just MOVE there…take that!

wait, that sounded much better in my head. In Mitch’s defense I have been hearing about David Klingler and that lame school for 15 years

    Randy

  3. PrinceofHouston says:

That “lame” school doesn’t look very much like it did when I was there. ”
Sniff” my baby is all growed up.
And it is not that I like UH more than Tech, it is that Tech fans down here couldn’t congratulate UH for winning a hell of a game, they just wanted to bag on them. It was embarrassing. It is kinda like going to a bad with your “bad ass” friend and he picks a fight with someone, trying to be the bully, and the guy just mops the floor with his ass, and all the while you are escorting him out of the building he is talking trash. You are usually like, “Dude, shut up already. He whipped your ass.”
Be a good sport and acknowledge a good effort.
