Question for the peanut gallery…

Say you were divorced and you’re getting remarried. (edited for kajagugu’s sake)

Now lets say you want your two kids to be in the wedding.

And that you have gotten permission from the kids principal to have them miss school for three days for the wedding and special bonding time. They will be given advanced school work in preparation for their departure. After all, the principal is divorced too and knows how hard it is to be a parent from far away.

But your ex says “It doesn’t matter if you get a call from the pope. I’m not sending the kids because I don’t want them to miss three days of school”

Does calling her a mean woman seem tame?

I have no animosity towards the ex, but in this case, I would have to use the term I rarely ever use to describe someone. Starts with c rhymes with hunt.
There are some things you can miss school for. If they are giving them the homework in advance then there is no problem. The kids are bright, they will suffer no ill effects.
Parents want to take the kids to Washington DC…miss school.
You have a chance to go to the Youth Congress…miss school.
Disney World in Jan 1985…don’t get to miss school.
Father getting married, they need to be in the wedding so they know they are still first in his life…miss school.
Using missing school as an excuse…pretty low down rotten.
If I seem a little more cranky and bitter than usual, I just slipped on a wet tile floor at work and retwist my already f’d up back from my fall Sunday morning. I don’t feel like playing nice today.

Are you serious? 3 days of school in the grand scheme of things is nothing. What’s 3 days out of 12+ years. They’re probably going to miss the all important they’re/their/there class and its/it’s going to always sit in the back of your/you’re/yore mind when you read their blog comments.

Mean woman is all you could come up with? As writer, father and radio broadcaster I would use all three mediums to tell the bitch to go fuck herself.

And BTW, you’re only getting remarried or married again, not remarried again. Bazinga!

    Tame? Ummm… that’s an understatement.

I can think of a few monosyllabic options that better suit that situation. Given a couple more seconds I could come up with more colourful adjectives and nouns.

If she refuses to budge, make sure the kids know that it’s all mom’s fault and that she’s a “mean woman”. Screw diplomacy.

What goes around comes, karma will bite the bitch in the ass. I know the kids will understand in time, all you can do is live your life and be there for them, which I know you are and do.

That’s tame. I actually agree with everyone else so far. 3 days of school is nothing and they’ll miss plenty more before it’s done. Uff.

Have you thought of the following today?

Calling a lost friend? Smiling at a stranger? Laughing for no reason? Kicking someone you hate in the privates?
