I only had one grandparent left after I turned ten. When she passed away when I was a young man it was so sad. However, I lucked out in that my girlfriend (now wife) had not yet lost a grandparent, so I inherited a whole new set. Sadly, the final one passed away several years ago.

My grandma still lives on, however, in some of the classic things she said many years ago that live on. At least once or twice a week at dinner I say,”This is just like a picnic.” There were several other classic lines my brother and I repeat to each other every so often. She was one of a kind.

It sounds like you have great memories of your grandmother. They will bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye in the years ahead …

I lost the last of my grandparents a few years ago. Each of them hold a special place in my heart, and I realized with the passing of my grandmother that they were the ones I most tried to make sure were proud of me.

I can’t imagine your grandmother would be anything but beaming about the man you became.
